Institute of International Studies, Regents of the University of California at Berkeley "Conversations with History" host Harry Kreisler welcomed biblical scholar Bart Ehrman on a show titled "Biblical Insights into the Problem of Suffering" April 17th, 2008. The appearance was largely due to Bart's book release at the time, "God's Problem: How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question -- Why We Suffer."
Harry shapes a discussion exploring Bart's intellectual odyssey focused on how the Bible explains the problem of human suffering. The conversation includes a discussion of the challenges of biblical interpretation when confronting this age old problem of the human condition. Included are topics such as the contribution of the prophets, a comparison of the old and new testaments, the book of Job, and the emergence of apocalyptic writers.
