“Mormon Underwear” is the Temple Garment and is Sacred to Latter-day Saints

Temple garments are worn by faithful Latter-day Saints as a reminder of sacred beliefs and commitments. Sometimes inaccurately referred to as “Mormon underwear” or “magical underwear.”

While the temple garment is a sacred representation of an individual’s commitment to God including living a good, honorable life —the accurate and respectful term of such underwear is “temple garment.”

Wallnau: Trump Evicted Witchcraft From The White House

On Tuesday, conservative pastor Lance Wallnau appeared on “The Jim Bakker Show” to discuss President Trump’s inauguration and the Women’s March on Washington.

Wallnau said he knows the real reason that millions of people marched against the new president the day after the inauguration: Upon taking office, Trump evicted an evil spirit of witchcraft from the White House, causing that demonic spirit to go out into the general population.

“What I believe is happening is there was a deliverance of the nation from the spirit of witchcraft in the Oval Office,” he said. “The spirit of witchcraft was in the Oval Office, it was about to intensify to a higher level demon principality, and God came along with a wrecking ball [Trump] and shocked everyone, the church cried out for mercy and bam—God knocked that spirit out, and what you’re looking at is the manifestation of an enraged demon through the spirit.”

Earlier in the show, host Jim Bakker said that America needs a conservative Christian “revolution” against the government for “taking the Bible out of school”—something they did not do—and for supposedly telling pastors that they “cannot speak the word of God.”

If Trump had lost the election, Bakker said, America would have seen “a destruction, a total end of the church.

Latter-day Saints Prepare for Hurricane Harvey

As Hurricane Harvey strengthens off the coast of Texas, Mormons are preparing to send food and other commodities to Houston. High winds and flooding could result from the hurricane that is expected to hit the middle Texas coast and stall over the state.

On Friday, August 25, 2017, workers at the Bishops’ Central Storehouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were busy loading pallets of water and other life-sustaining supplies on several trucks in Salt Lake City.
“We received a call from our headquarters, and they have asked us if we would put together some loads to go down and actually pre-position some of these supplies in that area,” said John Hopkins, manager of the Bishops’ Central Storehouse.
Three trucks left Friday morning for the bishops’ storehouse in Houston in case there is a natural disaster in Texas and residents need assistance.

“This is an opportunity, even though it's a very adverse situation and there will be people affected adversely, but this allows us all to come together,” said Hopkins. “It'll just simply be a community effort, and I'm grateful to be part of that, to be able to provide that assistance.”

How to Stop Patent Trolls

It's been a bad year for patent trolls, from a Supreme Court decision squelching their ability to funnel lawsuits to East Texas, to this week's ruling that Personal Audio LLC can't claim it owns a patent on the entirety of podcasting. In the latest Mostly Weekly, Reason's Andrew Heaton explores what patent trolls are, the damage they do, and the next step in driving them out of courtrooms and back into dank caves.

Trolls camp out on piles of weak and frivolous patents, hoping to one day sue inventors and businesses. Many of the patents they register or buy are vague, representing novel ideas only insofar as trolls are innovative at finding things they didn't invent to claim legal ownership of. It doesn't matter that these patents wouldn't hold up in court, because a business is more likely to pay off a troll than to hire an expensive attorney to fight them. Trolls suck more than twenty billion dollars out of the economy each year.

The parasitical nature of "non-practicing entities" (the PC term for trolls) has raised questions about whether the modern patent system helps or hinders innovation, and if the best solution is for comprehensive reform or just to burn the whole thing down.

Heaton has an idea to hinder patent trolls. It may not be a silver bullet, but it will definitely piss them off.

Mostly Weekly is hosted by Andrew Heaton with headwriter Sarah Rose Siskind.

But is greed getting the better of us? Find out in GREED - A FATAL DESIRE.

From Buddhists and bankers to Eskimos and psychologists, we explore the phenomenon of greed with people from all walks of life. How can it be defined? What makes us greedy? And what are the repercussions?

Solar Eclipse 101

On August 21, 2017, the long-anticipated total solar eclipse will darken the skies from Oregon to South Carolina as the Moon passes between the Earth and Sun. The last time the contiguous United States saw a total solar eclipse was in 1979, and the next one won’t be until 2024.

Learn more about the science and significance of this phenomenon and the best way to view it—whether you’re in the “path of totality” or elsewhere (New Yorkers, for example, will be able to see the Moon cover about 70 percent of the Sun)—with Jackie Faherty of the Department of Astrophysics, and Joe Rao, Hayden Planetarium associate, in a discussion moderated by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium.

Xenu from Scientology explained

I had to share this chilling sequence from "Going Clear", even better than the South Park version, for being less comical and more haunting, fantastic montage, fantastic documentary, two of the most informative, and mesmerizing hours of my life...

Yes I could be categorized as "christian" and a lot of people are quick to point out that Scientology is no different from any other stupid and brainwashing religion... I disagree, no other religion asks for that much money for you to become a better believer, other religions have gods to worship, and in my religion in particular, the river in which Jesus was baptized is still there, Jerusalem is still there, the bible is historically accurate in a great portion, and the creation myth (which i take as metaphorical, not literal) doesn't use modern features in what was supposed to be the beginning of time... not mentioning that the big bang and the creation are very similar...

i'm not saying Christianity is right nor true (you and I can't prove nor disprove it) I respect every religion with good principals, but Scientology is not a religion... created by a science fiction author, pay plan from the beginning, harassment inside, and also after you leave...
