Excerpts from Dan Barker's debate with Adam Deen (Muslim apologist). In it Dan tries to convey the basic principles behind atheism, why he rejected his own belief in god and became an atheist, what are the main fallacies of religion in general, with a bit of focus on Islam and the Quran since the debate was in front of a Muslim audience.
Dan Barker, who is sometime referred to as "USA's leading atheist" is the author of 'Godless' and an international public speaker and debater in topics surrounding atheism and religion.

Atheists complain that God was created in the image of His human inventors.
Do they mean this God? [The Christian God is] “Arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it, a petty, unjust, unforgiving control freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynist, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”
We created THAT in our own image?
On the other hand atheists complain that God is nothing like humans. Which is it?

Atheists complain that Justice, as it’s found in the God of the Bible is nothing like justice as humans understand it.
On the other hand atheists complain that humans created God in their own image.
Which is it?
=====
Atheists complain that fear of nature is what caused humans to invent God as a wish fulfilment.
On the other hand the Christian religion contains the concept of hell which is orders of magnitude worse than anything nature can throw at us.
What kind of wish fulfilment is that?
=====
Atheists complain that God knows how everything will turn out and how He will act in every situation from now till eternity.
On the other hand atheists accuse God of being arbitrary and capricious.
Which is it and why do atheists so frequently flip flop from one side of an argument to the other as the situation seems to demand?
Have they no integrity? Do they not care about hypocrisy?
