Father Chooses Prayer Over Medicine As His Diabetic Daughter Died

This is just one of many reasons religion is sick. He watched as his daughter suffered, went into a diabetic coma and died and instead of taking her to the doctor where they would only have to administer some insulin and get her on a program he let her die. Notice that you don't see one tear on his face.

The sick bastard probably believes god chose to take his daughter to heaven. Religion truly is a sickness. And another question. If god is so real then why did he allow this little girl to die just because her father was ignorant and stupid? Seems to me he could have intervened on the little girls behalf if he was all loving.

This case is truly tragic. Sadly, this kind of thing is not new, because religious people behave in this way all the time- usually (and thankfully) it doesn't have such terrible consequences.

Note also that religious folk (esp. Christians) are quick to claim that "God" has healed them, but when it comes to cases where somebody doesn't get better, they tend to keep quiet and/or feel they ought to pray harder.

Anybody who thinks such behavior is acceptable needs their head checking; I fully support the decision to jail the irresponsible parents and hope it delivers a powerful message to the religious about the dangers of their delusions.

While this is certainly a terribly tragic event, we must remember that the cause of this little girl's death was faith. This was completely preventable, it was simply ignorant faith (that is, belief without reason) that lead to her death.

Everyone is entitled to believe whatever they chose, but when it affects their decision making and influences their actions (or inaction) that affect other people's lives, that's when it becomes a problem. How much longer will be live in a society where this is allowed to happen without consequence?

This sheer ignorance demonstrates what religion causes people to do. Religion is a human creation, and at its best, it forces a few people to be good based on fear of hell (although this is not the only way to inspire goodness). At its worst, however, this is what we end up with. Far too often, religion's dark side far outweighs anything positive it has to offer.
