Zakir Naik explains Miracles in the Quran (New 2011)

After a short introduction, Brother Zakir Naik takes 2 questions from members of the audience. He explains that the geo-spherical shape of the Earth was mentioned in the holy Quran 1400 years ago. This is one of the scientific miracles in the Quran considering that it was releatively recently that the shape of the Earth was discovered to be geospherical, postulated by leading scientists such a Nicholas Copernicus, Benjamin Franklin and Galileo.

This proves without a doubt that the Quran is the true word of Allah and his messenger.

Zakir Naik is a charlatan, a liar, and he deliberately lies to propogate the religion. Any Muslim who values preaching the religion honestly must condemn "Dr" Naik, but I doubt that will happen en masse though I have seen a few come out and condemn him for it (my gratitude to them).
"geo-spherical shape of the Earth was mentioned in the holy Quran 1400 years ago"
~ca 250BC Eratosthonese calculated the circumference (hence knew the Earth was spherial and not flat) to an accuracy higher than 95%.

"Nicholas Copernicus, Benjamin Franklin and Galileo."
I believe you are referring to the heliocentric model- this was already posed by a Greek by the name of Aristarchus, but it was rejected on religious grounds, pretty much the same reason why Gallileo was persecuted- Earth not being the center of all = big trouble.

No doubt you would also have heard of the "Earth is shaped like an ostric egg" claim. If you have a look an ostrich egg, and by shape, I mean the full 3D shape, you will find that it is not shaped like the Earth. I will exaggerate to explain: The ostrich egg is like a sausage, the Earth is more like a pancake.
But even if it were said in the koran that the Earth is shaped like an oblate spheroid, this doesn't mean it's a miracle, we know how the Greeks were fairly advanced, who knows, perhaps Eratosthonese knew more than we let on :)
