Bible Disqualifies God From Being God
The Bible sets guidelines for righteousness and God violates these, or at least an important one, guidelines. He cannot be god if we are to follow the Bible line for line.
Scriptures used in this video:
Matthew 5:46-48
Here we find the command to be perfect like God. But is God really perfect?
James 4:17
Knowing to do good and not doing so is sin.
John 14:8-11
Jesus says he speaks what hears the Father God speaking. Hence, if Jesus knows then so does God.
Matthew 25:31-46
Not doing good; feeding the poor, visiting prisoners, assisting the sick. sheltering th homeless, etc., is a damnable sin punishable by an eternity in hell.
Therefore, we can easily say that God knows to do good, is perfectly capable of doing good, has set the standard in Matthew 25:31-46 as to what "good" actually is. However, his refusal to end world hunger, all the wars, end homelessness, etc., is, by his own standard, a grievous sin. This makes him NOT PERFECT and as such, it is impossible for him to be god. there is, then, at lest know Jewish, Islamic nor Christian God of the bible that exists.

War on Festivus
"A self-described "militant atheist" is threatening to sue a Florida town after it put up a Nativity display at the fire station even though it had banned them earlier this year so that a Festivus pole would not have to be given equal consideration."

Bill O'Reilly Courageously Covered War With a Pen
"Bill O'Reilly (Catholic Christian) has a new front in the War on Christmas: two nativity scenes in Guantanamo Bay. Unfortunately for Bill O'Reilly, he was no match for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation's Mikey Weinstein, who successfully lobbied to have them removed. Let's just say that the segment ended with O'Reilly cutting Weinstein's mike and proclaiming that his having covered "four wars with a pen" was comparable to military service.
Bill O'Reilly was scornful from the beginning. Apparently, he took the loss of the nativity scenes personally, even though they were more than 1,400 miles away. He was also peeved that Weinstein would not reveal who had complained. O'Reilly seemed to feel he had some kind of divine right to the information, that the complainers owed it to him to come forward and that they must be cowards if they didn't.
You could tell that O'Reilly was fighting to keep his temper because first he told the seemingly unflappable Weinstein to "Calm down, calm down." But before long, it was O'Reilly who was yelling, "It's a national holiday!"
Near the end, Weinstein asked if O'Reilly had ever served in the military. No, O'Reilly said, he had not. That's when the fireworks started."* Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, John Iadarola and Jimmy Dore break it down on The Young Turks.

Nude 19-Years-Old and Masturbating With a Crucifix
"Right now, St. Pius X High School's staff and student body are praying for the soul of former student Valerie Dodds (Val Midwest), after the 19-year-old returned to the Lincoln, Nebraska, campus to take nude photos and masturbate with various props, including a crucifix. Dodds, who graduated from a non-Catholic high school in the area and now runs a nude photography business, said that some of her former classmates at the school "said mean things" when she started up her NSFW website and so she returned to the school "to show them that I'm here to stay." Dodds continued in a post on her website:
"I held nothing back I used my fingers, my toys and even my crucifix in my pussy! I used every part of the school I could get into, payback is a bitch ha ha.""* Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, Ana Kasparian and Jimmy Dore break it down on The Young Turks.

Elf Habitat Concern Threatens Highway Project
"Elf advocates have joined forces with environmentalists to urge the Icelandic Road and Coastal Commission and local authorities to abandon a highway project building a direct route from the Alftanes peninsula, where the president has a home, to the Reykjavik suburb of Gardabaer. They fear disturbing elf habitat and claim the area is particularly important because it contains an elf church.
The project has been halted until the Supreme Court of Iceland rules on a case brought by a group known as Friends of Lava, who cite both the environmental and the cultural impact — including the impact on elves — of the road project. The group has regularly brought hundreds of people out to block the bulldozers.
And it's not the first time issues about "Huldufolk," Icelandic for "hidden folk," have affected planning decisions."*

Lawmaker Compares Atheist Billboard To The Holocaust
"Over at Fox News, they're none too happy with an ad set up in Times Square by American Atheists telling people Jesus isn't necessarily the reason for the season, but one New York state lawmaker has finally ratcheted the debate all the way up to 11, saying it's the kind of religious affront to God and man that encourages the kind of religious persecution that led to the Holocaust.
State senator Andrew Lanza is incensed about the ad, and said last week it's part of the "continued 'War on Christmas,'" and set up a petition to get it taken down so Christians stop being forced to get offended every time they see it."*

John Hagee Says People Who Don't Like "Merry Christmas" Should Leave The Country
In this video, John Hagee says that any atheists who don't like being told "Merry Christmas" should just leave the country.
My name is Emily Pearson and I'm an Ex Mormon
I was born in Provo, Utah to Gerald and Carol Lynn Pearson. At the age of eight years old I was baptized an official, 5th generation, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was twelve years old when I learned my dad, whom I adored, was gay; sixteen years old when he died of AIDS in our home; eighteen years old when my mother's book "Goodbye, I Love You" was published by Random House; twenty five years old when I knowingly married a gay man myself in the Salt Lake City temple; thirty two years old when we divorced; thirty four when I walked away from the Mormon Church; and forty when I officially had my name removed from the church records.
I have spent the past 8 years writing my "Exit Story" in a memoir called Dancing With Crazy slated for publication later this year (2011.) Rather than try and re-cap it all here, suffice it to say that it has been a wild ride. Early on in my life I became obsessed with obedience to the God that I was introduced to at church -- the very same God that hated and condemned my father for being a homosexual and who was, in turn (and for good reason) hated by my dad. Growing up I had so many questions about what I was taught and how things worked and the answers I was given just didn't make any sense to me. What I thought and felt and experienced in my world and knew in my bones to be true was at complete odds with what I was told to think and feel and experience and believe. It was too much, too confusing, too painful and too frightening to think about. So I didn't. I couldn't. I was completely incapable of executing the intellectual and emotional gymnastics my life required so I mentally flatlined. Not thinking became the only way for me to survive.
I had to choose which father to obey, which father to love -- a choice that broke me in two. I chose my dad and everything that his life brought into my world. After his death I frantically realigned myself with my Heavenly Father and became subject to His will and whims and myriad of "tests and trials" -- never once thinking anything through for myself, never once taking responsibility for my choices or the direction of my own life. How could I? If I allowed that, even for a moment, everything I thought, believed and chose would be in direct opposition to what I was taught at church and that could never be allowed. Yes, personal revelation was taught and encouraged - but only if that personal revelation was in absolute alignment with the official doctrines and teachings of the church. Mine wasn't and I was desperate to be obedient enough, good enough, perfect enough so that God would love me and forgive me for not choosing him and allow me to live with him again after this life.

Bill O'Reilly vs The Bible
Bill O'Reilly has several issues regarding the Bible.
The most obvious one is how he thinks that somehow it becomes moral for someone to be killed for picking up sticks on the wrong day of the week, as long as its 'God' doing the killings.
Firstly he accepts that there are a lot of laws about slavery in the old testiment (Judeo-Christian), but then goes on to say that this Judeo-Christian philosophy is what the US constitution and declaration of independance was built around.

Jesus & Santa Are White - Megyn Kelly On Fox News
"Fox News host Megyn Kelly on Wednesday assured children viewing her program that both Jesus Christ and Santa Claus were white men even though some liberals were trying to make them black. In a column for Slate earlier this week, Aisha Harris wrote that she had always been confused as a child because the Santa in her home had brown skin like her, but the Santa in malls and on television was always white. So Harris made the case "that America abandon Santa-as-fat-old-white-man" and adopt a penguin in his place...".*

Fox News vs Pope Francis
"Conservatives' uneasy relationship with Pope Francis I got even more complicated after he issued his recent apostolic exhortation that criticized the "idolatry of money." Judge Andrew Napolitano blasted the pope for "attacking free-market capitalism." Rush Limbaugh accused him of preaching "pure Marxism." And now, in an op-ed for FoxNews.com, editor Adam Shaw takes things one step further by calling Pope Francis the "Catholic Church's Obama," and not in a positive way...".*

Stand Your Ground Law's Latest Victim: 72-Year-Old With Alzheimer's
"A 72-year-old who suffered from Alzheimer's was shot dead after wandering onto a man's property early Wednesday morning, ringing the doorbell and turning the door handle. After Joe Hendrix's fiancé called 911 to report a possible intruder, Hendrix went outside to take matters into his own hands, and fired four shots at a silhouette in his yard, killing Ronald Westbrook.
Hendrix admitted to shooting Westbrook in the yard of his rural northern Georgia home after calling out to him and hearing no answer. The county sheriff said Hendrix went outside after waiting 9 or 10 minutes for the police, while his fiancé was still on the phone with the 911 dispatcher. The county sheriff said was "certain" he and his fiance felt threatened.
The incident is the latest in a series of fatal shootings by residents who said they feared an intruder. Last month, protests erupted while a Detroit-area district attorney mulled whether she would file charges against a homeowner who shot a 19-year-old girl, reportedly seeking help after a car accident. Theodore P. Wafer was ultimately charged with murder, but his lawyer invoked the language of the state's "shoot first" laws that authorize deadly force in self-defense, suggesting Wafer may seek immunity against charges."* Ana Kasparian, John Iadarola, Michael Shure and Jimmy Dore break it down on The Young Turks.

The Right Reacts To Pope Francis On Capitalism
"Pope Francis called for renewal of the Roman Catholic Church and attacked unfettered capitalism as "a new tyranny", urging global leaders to fight poverty and growing inequality in the first major work he has authored alone as pontiff.
The 84-page document, known as an apostolic exhortation, amounted to an official platform for his papacy, building on views he has aired in sermons and remarks since he became the first non-European pontiff in 1,300 years in March.
In it, Francis went further than previous comments criticizing the global economic system, attacking the "idolatry of money" and beseeching politicians to guarantee all citizens "dignified work, education and healthcare"."* Ana Kasparian, John Iadarola, Michael Shure and Jimmy Dore break it down on The Young Turks.

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

How the NSA betrayed the world's trust -- time to act
Recent events have highlighted, underlined and bolded the fact that the United States is performing blanket surveillance on any foreigner whose data passes through an American entity -- whether they are suspected of wrongdoing or not. An important rant, wrapped with a plea: to find alternative solutions to using American companies for the world's information needs.

My Authentic Journey
I'm not here to list all the reasons why the church isn't true. That's easy enough to see with a quick ten minute Google search...
Mind you, that's not how I discovered the church wasn't true for me. There are teachings and beliefs that are indisputably wrong. However, in the end it wasn't the doctrines -- it ended up being the practice. Modern Mormonism purports itself to be the path of happiness. This is where it came falling down for me. When I clearly saw that it wasn't bringing me or my family happiness, I had to leave.
One significant memory that's been seared into my mind was when my son, six years old at the time, responded to my gentle reprimand over something he did wrong, "I will never be good enough." I couldn't bear the thought that this sweet little boy would have such a harmful, negative idea placed in his mind in such an early age. It's a theme in Christianity and Mormonism, especially: you can never be good enough.
My children, too, helped me to accept that I was gay. I asked myself the question: "What if one of them grew up and told me they were gay?" I couldn't bear to tell them that they must hide who they are, or live a life devoid of love. Being a parent completely changed my perspective. Although I no longer hold to any religious belief, I cannot imagine a loving god would want his creation to live a life devoid of love and authenticity. Mormonism still requires this of its members.

I couldn't bear the thought that this sweet little boy would have such a harmful, negative idea placed in his mind in such an early age.

Forcing Christianity On Players Gets Coach Fired?
"Oakland University fired Beckie Francis as its women's basketball coach because she was mentally and emotionally abusing her players, was "obsessed" with the player's eating habits and body fat and refused to follow orders to separate her religion from her coaching, the school said in a new court filing. It's the first time the university publicly acknowledged the reasons behind Francis' June firing, although Detroit Free Press reported in July that the move came after players complained they were being emotionally and mentally abused by the coach. Francis has said in previous court filings she doesn't know why she was fired...".* Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur break it down on The Young Turks.

Millions Show Love & Gratitude Without God. Thanksgiving Ad in Times Square
This Thanksgiving in Times Square, secular humanists are reminding everyone that love and gratitude can be fully experienced and expressed without belief in God. A major electronic billboard advertisement from the Center for Inquiry, an international secular advocacy organization, will run through the holidays in full view of the millions who pass through "the Crossroads of the World" through the season.
The video advertisement features a mother and her young daughter embracing among the autumn leaves, with text declaring, "Millions show love and gratitude without God." The 15-second ad ends with the good wishes of everyone at CFI: "Happy Thanksgiving to all who make the world a better place!"
The ad is part of the Living without Religion campaign (livingwithoutreligion.org), which seeks to introduce those who question religion to a vibrant and welcoming community of secular humanists, and to undo the stereotype of nonbelievers as angry or lost.
"Since the nonreligious don't believe in God, some wonder how we know who to give thanks to." said Ronald Lindsay, President and CEO of CFI. "Our answer is to just look around you at the people in your life."
Said Lindsay, "We all have much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving, and millions of Americans, instead of praying to a god, will be expressing gratitude and love to those who do so much to make life worth living: their family, their friends, and those who help others in need. A supposed supreme being isn't necessary."
The ad can be seen on West 42nd street between 7th and 8th Ave., on the north side above the Cold Stone Creamery and beneath the CBS logo. It is co-sponsored by local freethought organization Reasonable New York.

God does NOT exist | Michael Shermer
Michael Shermer gives his argument against the existence of God, any god.
Dr Michael Shermer begins by saying that 84% of the world's population believe in some kind of organised religion and how do those who believe in a particular religion know that they have chosen the right one and everyone else has got it wrong?

Michael Shermer starts with evolutionary theory saying that we are all descendants from cautious creatures who creator false positive rather than false negatives.
The creation of an agency (an omnipotent being) within a religion is a powerful force of social control. Then the second line of evidence is the what ever social environment were born into we would be exposed to the dominant religion in that environment i.e. India -- Hinduism, Europe -- Christianity.

FAQ:
Why did you want to go to BYU if you're not a believer?
I started out at BYU as a believer. I loved the Mormon Church and didn't plan on leaving it.
Can't you just get an ecclesiastical endorsement from another religion if you're not longer Mormon?
No, you can't. Leaving the LDS Church is against the Honor Code. You are immediately suspended if you do so.
http://thestudentreview.org/religious-freedom-at-byu/
I've heard of Mormon turned atheists that were allowed to continue attending BYU. What makes you different?
I know some Mormon turned atheists here at BYU who've been able to be open about their non-belief without any problems from their church leaders. I know others who've had lots of problems with their church leaders. I fall in the latter category.
Remember, a church leader can take away a students' endorsement FOR ANY REASON.
Curtis Penfold, Ex-BYU Student - Extended Cut (11min)
What about all the faithful Latter-day Saints who want to attend BYU? Shouldn't they kick you out to make room for them?
I was one of those faithful Latter-day Saints. And then my beliefs changed. Maybe other faithful Latter-day Saints wanted to attend BYU, but the fact is, I WANTED to stay at BYU, too. I enjoyed my program and I enjoyed my work.
Non-Mormons can attend BYU. Why can't ex-Mormons?
How can BYU benefit if they let BYU students who leave the LDS Church keep attending?
Well for one thing, they'd have less enemies from those who feel they have to hide at BYU, or who feel that they've been kicked against the curb by BYU.
For another thing, it could help the Mormon community by having Mormons create bridges in their youth with the ex-Mormon community, while at BYU. Mormons can become more open-minded, self-aware, and accepting of others if they could come in contact with those who believe differently than them while they're young.
So BYU kicked you out of your housing?
My apartment was owned by an independent company that has a contract with BYU. They house non-BYU students, but if anybody breaks the honor code, they're supposed to kick them out, or else they can't house BYU students anymore, and they'd lose a lot of money. I got kicked out for leaving the LDS Church. Even after being evicted, they still expect me to pay my rent until somebody else buys my contract.
You mention that part of the portfolio talks about occult activity. How can you be into the Occult if you're an atheist?
My relationship with the Occult (and with anything religious in general) is similar to my relationship with art, poetry, and theatre. I might get something out of performing Hamlet on stage or painting something. It might help me view my life from a new perspective or help me discover new things about myself. But I don't believe anything magical is going on.
Just like I don't believe anything magical is going on when I read Tarot, participate in a ritual, or pray in traditional form to Santa Muerte. I might not think anything supernatural is going on, but that doesn't mean I don't get anything out of it.
Some feel that me being interested in the Occult is a good reason to kick me out of my school, my housing, and my work. I happen to disagree. I also hope that a person will never get kicked out of their school, housing, and work for being a fan of Lovecraft either. Or for being atheist. Or for being pagan. Or baptist. Or Satanist. Because freedom is a beautiful thing.

I'm An Atheist, But I'm Not "Out"
Surveys from Pew and other organizations show non-belief as the fastest growing "religious group" (for lack of a better term) in the United States.
Some are simply unconcerned about religion. But many are self-professed atheists.
However, many of these atheists have only professed their non-belief to a select few, and some haven't told anyone at all.
This show deals with atheists who aren't "out." What are the reasons for remaining silent? What are the consequences of going public? And how is the culture shifting to perhaps make it easier for the non-theist to step out of the shadows.

Sheikh 'Abdur Rahman Dimashqiah is one of the most renowned scholars of Ahlus Sunnah residing in the West. He specialises in the fields of 'Aqeedah (Islamic Theology and Belief) and Deviant Sects.
..... I think you have to be a believer to think this shit is anything.
