Why Tolerate Religion?

On April 27, 2013, the Center for Inquiry hosted a daylong symposium in Washington, D.C., titled "Why Tolerate Religion?" The event featured seven leading thinkers who examined the contentious issue of whether religion deserves any special legal protection under the law.



This is video of the keynote lecture by Brian Leiter, Karl N. Llewellyn Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the Center for Law, Philosophy, and Human Values at the University of Chicago, and author of the book "Why Tolerate Religion?"

Other speakers at the symposium, which was held at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre, included Jacques Berlinerblau, Caroline Mala Corbin, Wendy Kaminer, Ronald A. Lindsay, Barry Lynn, and John R. Shook.
