Sanal Edamaruku on horoscope for school career counseling

Marigold Public School in India organized career counseling for students on the basis of their horoscopes. Astrologers asked students to chant mantras. TV discussions with Sanal Edamaruku on one side and the principal of Marigold public school & astrologers on the other went several hours in different Indian TV channels.

The principal apologized in live TV for his mistake. In one TV discussion students also participated. Parents & students joined the side of reason. Following Sanal Edamaruku's campaign, career counseling with horoscopes in the school was stopped. Excerpts from the discussion in IBN-7 TV.

It is self praising blog of Mr. Sanal. If the viewers watched the programme then they will recall that Mr. Sanal said, “Mantras have no power!” It has been the role of the satin who thinks that he can say and do all. I believe that: THE WORLD SUFFERS A LOT, NOT BECAUSE OF VIOLENCE OF BAD PEOPLE BUT BECAUSE OF SILENCE OF GOOD PEOPLE. He has camouflaged the topic by his bragging and has gone beyond lines. Principle was a soft target because he is an educationalist who cannot argue with people who talk at the top of their voices. There are many examples where these so called rationalists can be cornered. Mr. Sanal seem to be groping in dark without reading the famous people of the world. For his knowledge I am just putting a quote from a famous person Mr. Philips Frank, “Science without religion is lame; Religion without science is blind”.

The ignorance of someone can not become authority. What Mr Sanal knows about astrology? We say India is a Secular country and The supreme authority OUR CONSTITUTION has provided Fundamental Right to every citizen to follow their religion. Mantras are the integral part of Hindu religion. Why Missionary Schools allow verses of Bible read in the school? Why one of the DPS school allow verses of Holy Quran chanted on every thursday?

Before saying anything for cheap popularity, Mr Sanal recheck facts twice. No one has any right to blame the religious feelings of any citizen.
