Christopher Hitchens: The Moral Necessity of Atheism
A fantastic lecture by Christopher Hitchens about how atheism (and anti-theism) is not only a healthy belief system but a moral necessity. He talks about the very earthly nature of religion, the dangerous effect it is having on our world and the need for people to think for themselves.
Have a drink and get comfortable because Hitchens is going to explain it all to you just brilliantly!

Ben Stein - Atheists are Afraid of God
Ben Stein and Glenn Beck talking about atheists.
When Richard Dawkins is talking about aliens to be the designer, he is refering to Chreationists/Intelligent Designeres who say it can be aliens, but they themself believe it is God (Yahwe). Richard Dawkins do not believe in a designer/creator.
Funny thing: Ben Stein are a Jew, Glenn Beck are a Christian. But atheists are common ememy.

Description: Around the World in 80 Faiths
Part 4/8 - The Middle East
Pete Owen Jones's epic journey exploring the world's beliefs continues in the Middle East, where he encounters an unknown side to a land scarred by religious strife. In a moving and at times disturbing film, Pete travels to Israel where he meets the African-Americans who have settled in the Holy Land to live by the principles of the Old Testament - including polygamy. He travels to Syria to explore Islam and meet the Sufi Whirling Dervishes, to Samaria to witness the 3000-year-old Passover sacrifice, and to northern Iraq to track down the ancient and obscure Yazidi sect, who have a curious reputation for devil worship. Pete also visits Jerusalem, revered as the ultimate city of spiritual power, where he takes part in two great rituals - the Christian Via Dolorosa and the Jewish Purim festival.

Activists claim that money from the Mormon Church was the deciding factor in passing Proposition 8 in California - banning gay marriage.
The church claims to have only spent a few thousand dollars on the campaign, but ANP has uncovered evidence that may expose a gaping hole in that claim. Also, the IRS forbids religious organizations from "substantially" lobbying for political legislation. Did the Mormon Church violate this law?

Around the World in 80 Faiths (episode 3)
Episode 3: Africa
Pete Owen Jones continues his year long religious odyssey with a gruelling journey exploring the spiritual traditions of Africa. Pete sets off hoping to get a glimpse of man's first experience of the divine.
His journey begins with the ancient practice of Voodoo in Benin, where Pete is confronted by ritual practices that contradict his own deeply held religious convictions. He is forced to decide whether he should even take part.
In the continent where all human life began, he travels to Botswana to meet the San Bushmen, inheritors of the earliest religious faith on earth. In South Africa he discovers surprising new developments in religious belief when he meets the members of the 12th Apostolic Church and is stunned to find Afrikaners who believe the world is about to come to an end.
In Ethiopia he finds a group of one of the worlds youngest religions - Rastafarians who have set up a Utopian community in this harsh and unforgiving land.

Thanks For Ruining My Holiday
So, the trials of folk in the Gaza Strip have been kind of doing my head in. The lovely people who have lined up around the block to mindlessly, tribally defend the actions of Israel have presented my mind with a problem to understand.
After several days, finally starting to get some ideas happening. Bad shit is happening, may as well try to learn from it.

James Randi and The Psychic Chemist
This demonstration of psychic chemistry can find uses in discussion of experimental design, acid-base indicators, aqueous equilibria, and calculating the pH of weak acid solutions.
As part of a recent NOVA program on psychic phenomena in Russia, the magician and crusader for scientific integrity, James Randi, visited a scientific institute in Moscow where a Rasputin-like character claimed to be able to cause chemical changes to occur using mind-power ... PSYCHIC CHEMISTRY! In a video segment not used in the program that was aired on public television, the director of the laboratory, a Ph.D. in chemistry, demonstrated the power of the purported psychic by having him change the color of a blue solution to yellow.
The solution was sitting on a magnetic stirrer in an uncovered beaker, which the psychic concentrated on intensely. Miraculously, after several minutes of focusing on the solution, with an occasional grunt for effect, the solution turned from blue to green and finally to yellow. The psychic then sat back with a satisfied look on his face.
This makes for an outstanding demonstration. After showing the video, the instructor puts on his psychic outfit (with safety glasses, of course) and performs the same miracle for the class! Of course, the instructor also has a pH meter handy to demonstrate to the class (but not before amazing them and then questioning them about how the miracle is performed and how it could be properly tested using careful experimental design) that the psychic is exhaling into the beaker, causing the pH to drop due to carbon dioxide reaction with water, and the bromthymol blue indicator, which was originally blue due to base added to the solution, turns green and then yellow.

Greening the Evangelicals
How solidly Republican will Christian evangelicals be in 2008? As the country enters the next phase in this historic election season, concern about the state of God's earth may be the issue that draws many believers into the Democratic camp.
Richard Cizik of the National Association of Evangelicals estimates that perhaps 40% of evangelicals will be "up for grabs" in November.
